At Salesforce, we believe everyone deserves a chance to succeed. That’s why we created the UKI Future Pathways Apprenticeship programme in 2018 – a launchpad for talented individuals from all walks of life to break into the world of tech.
More than just a job: A launchpad for success
Future Pathways Apprenticeships target “untapped talent” — individuals brimming with potential who often lack access to traditional career pathways. We know that talent is everywhere, but opportunity is not, and many aspiring professionals face barriers to entry, whether it’s a non-traditional educational background, limited professional networks, or simply not knowing where to start. Future Pathways is designed to level the playing field, providing the skills, experience, and support you need to build a thriving career at Salesforce.
Our program isn’t just about filling roles; it’s about building futures. Future Pathways apprenticeships go beyond traditional on-the-job training. They’re a comprehensive development experience, combining paid work experience with structured learning, mentorship, and ongoing support.
What makes Future Pathways different?
Real-world experience: Apprentices aren’t just shadowing; they’re contributing. They work on real projects for real customers, applying their skills to solve real-world problems. Just ask former Solution Engineering apprentice, Jacob Berry, who says “I appreciated the opportunity to collaborate with experienced professionals, which gave me invaluable insights into the industry. It was fulfilling to see how my work directly contributed to the team’s success, and I loved the sense of growth and purpose that came with it.” Read more about Jacob’s journey below.
From Future Pathways Apprentice to Salesforce Solution Engineering Specialist
“During my two weeks shadowing Solution Engineers, I saw the incredible opportunities the role provides.”
Industry-recognised qualifications: Apprentices earn valuable industry certifications, such as the Salesforce Admin Certification and Trailhead badges, alongside their apprenticeship qualification. This not only validates their skills but also provides a strong foundation for long-term career growth.
Mentorship and support: We understand that starting a career can be challenging, especially for those from underrepresented backgrounds. Our dedicated Future Pathways team provides ongoing support, including program-specific onboarding, skill-building workshops (covering topics like money management and professional development), and regular check-ins with a dedicated Program Manager. This ensures apprentices have the resources and support they need to overcome any obstacles and flourish in their roles. Each apprentice also has the opportunity to have an experienced mentor who provides guidance, support, and acts as a champion.
Don’t just take it from us!
In 2024, our Future Pathways programs won the Diversity Award at the Tech Excellence Awards, Innovator of the Year at the Movement to Work Youth Employability Awards and in 2023, we won Employer of the Year in the Digital and Tech Sector at the Multicultural Apprenticeship Awards.
Former security apprentice Anthony Quinn says “It’s not just a job; it’s a transformative journey that can open doors to a fulfilling and dynamic career in the technology industry.“”
