-Project makes tradability of buying stock in Africa easy
-One to buy stocks in foreign exchanges from their countries
About nine African Stock Exchanges have come together to establish an Africa Exchange Linkages Project -AELP.
“You will be able to buy Safaricom in Kenya or Dangote Nigeria shares using a broker from here,” Botswana Stock Exchange,Chief Executive Officer -CEO revealed at just ended US Africa Business Summit that was held in Gaborone last week.
“And also in Nigeria and Kenya they will be able to sit in their offices and be able to buy the likes of Letshego here and the likes of Sefalana,” he said of the stock exchanges which have a market cap of two trillion US$.
